The Elephant House

A welcome get-away from the bustle of Royal Mile, the Elephant House is a large sunny cafe with a view of the Castle. It boasts to be "the birthplace of Harry Potter", which we're not so sure about, but customers range from Potter-fan tourists to actual writers and students, all of whom make good use of the relaxed vibe, free wi-fi and reasonable prices.
