Pivo
Pivo is hidden down a side turning on your way down towards Leith Street but is well worth hunting out. It's open until 3am most nights, later when the licensing's extended in December and August, and it's got no cover charge, making it an after hours Mecca. As you would probably expect from a bar named after the Czech for lager, there's a large range of European beers on offer. Resident DJs provide music and the atmosphere is a gentle up-beat hum, becoming more energised the later the hour. Tasty beer, not for the musically picky.

Add a comment »The worst pub in Edinburgh by far, some very unfriendly bar staff and all unfriendly clientelle. Known to the locals as a dive. Czech themed in a stereotypical way with misspeled Czech murials and no Czechs. Highly attractive to foreigners who dont know any better unless you are Polish or part of some other exclusive minority you will be made to feel unwelcome. You will never see the same people in here twice this is what the bar lives on - a steady stream of foreign transients. It is nobodys local for a very good reason. Avoid at all costs.
