Henderson's Restaurant and Arts Venue

If you are a firm believer that no meat equals no flavour then try out Henderson's for a delightful awakening. Established way back in 1962, and standing firm where other vegetarian restaurants have come and gone, it has established itself as something of an Edinburgh institution. The cooking is both homely and inventive, with daily-changing specials ranging from savoury stuffed crêpes to cauliflower and coconut curry, as well as their usual colourful array of salads (available in small, medium and large plate-fulls). With an art gallery inside the restaurant, a relaxed basement atmosphere, regular live music nights, and a take away deli and bakery upstairs offering irresistible cakes, Henderson's will probably be around for the next 50 years as well. Amen to that.
