Edinburgh Printmakers

Edinburgh Printmakers was established in 1967 as the first open access studio and gallery in Britiain dedicated to promoting contemporary printmaking. It offers weekend and evening classes in etching, litography, screenprinting and relief printing with three different types of membership depending on your enthusiasm and, let's be honest, ability to stick to things. Alongside the work of resident artists the gallery also features a rolling programme of exhibitions from the whole spectrum of contemporary graphic art, such as Marc Chagall, David Hockney and Jim Dine.

• Kirsty Whiten: Breeder Badlands

  Unique solo exhibition from Kirsty Whiten, dealing with the complexities of the new familial unit in both large works on canvas and a new series of stone lithographs.

• Jenny Littlejohn's Drawing Class

  6:30pm – 8:30pm, £15 per class

  To coincide with Kirsty Whiten's Breeder Badlands exhibition, Jenny Littlejohn will run a trio of lifedrawing classes, each with a unique theme based on the exhibition.

• Stone Lithography Taster Class

  Inspired by Kirsty Whiten's lithographs, Edinburgh Printmakers host a workshop exploring drawing directly onto lithographic stone. No previous experience required.

• New Print Generation

  Emerging talent showcase of graduate work from across the four Scottish Art College Degree Shows, spanning a wide variety of printmaking techniques, and including work from Skinny favourite Rachel MacLean.

• New Print Generation: Gallery Talk

  An introduction to the exhibition and the NPG programme by Edinburgh Printmakers' Master Printer of Etching, Bronwen Sleigh, plus short talks by each of the participating artists.

• Etching and Colour Printing Taster Class

  Etching and colour printing taster workshop, run by two of the artists participating in the New Print Generation exhibition who both use colour extensively in their own work.
