The Cameo is an Edinburgh institution. Running since 1914, this old-fashioned movie theatre has red curtains and intimate screens. Being able to get a drink to take in to a film from the recently refurbished bar is a treat, unless the movie is scary and you are liable to spill it all over yourself.
Always better to head to an independent cinema, they have more than just your usual bog standard movies on offer and if your tastes do travel further afield then make sure you check the Cameo out.
The bar is also worth a visit for an afternoon coffee or a tasty bit of munch as well as an elegant drink in the evening. Also available for hire for a price, there are a range of nights dedicated to artists the Cameo admires, quizzes, opportunities to DJ a set and much more.
