An edgily credible basement bar on fashionable Bath Street, Bloc+ prides itself on almost a decade's worth of wining and dining Glasgow's clubbing clientele, and a strictly "no pigeonhole" music policy. With a reputation for nurturing local talent, Bloc hosts live gigs from both unsigned and established acts most nights of the week (totting up around 500 bands every year) ranging from low-key acoustic offerings, to achingly hip electro, to skull-crushing heavy metal. Sundays at Bloc are open-mic evenings, or if it's just a little bit of comforting ambience you're after, head down to the Glasgow Slow Club every Tuesday. Alternatively, if it's just a pint and a pizza you're after, this groovy little joint opens til 3am, with a recently spruced-up food menu on offer until 10pm.

(Voltaic) Dance music extravaganza @ Bar Bloc

This wee night has grown for its humble beginnings and has now crash landed at bar bloc, expect table dancing and sick as funk tunes from Glasgow and Aberdeen's finest DJs

Tunes will include electro breaks and all things sweet, so come down and dance of ith acheap drink!

GUSGUS has been dj'ing for 2 years, playing breaks dubstep drum and bass hip hop funk, everything except gabber.
At the moment his sounds are breaks/dubstep crossover stuff that seems to be coming out, noisia, feed me, davip.
At 24 gus is running a number of nights with massive DJs booked for future events at Origin in Aberdeen. he has been really lucky to support Utah Saints and The Scratch Perverts (even if he only got the sets because he won a bet!)

In keeping with the aberdeen/glasgow dj collaboration theme of the night, pants off dance off top-tune tag team Peter Collins (Glasgow) & Booie (Aberdeen) will endevour to tease and please with a selection of tunage that defies genre... 'if you can dance to it and its good, play it'!
Under the manky name they have been sharing the decks all over the place with some of the best names in dance, from sinden, hostage, dirty basement (fellow basement residents), boy-8-bit, bobmo, larry tee, twitch, silicone soul, calvin harris, dave angel, rolando, filthy gorgeous, marco bailey, billy nasty, simian mobile disco & the whip. Dropping pure quality has been their remit for the last six years. Still preferring to play vinyl for their sets they have 'got bawdeep' in the arches for blitzkrieg bop/death disco/club nme/on... most recentlywith alibi and just about every other good venue out there, plus they have been a stick on for some of the best after hours action in the city... rocked it from festivals to disused tunnels and back again, with the scars to prove it.

These boys are sure to bring you to your knees, there wont be a dry seat in the house!!

FOLIAGE is the small-town boy with the big city sounds. Hailing from Tain in the Scottish Highlands, he has made quite an impact on the Glasgow scene in the last five years. His quality sets predominantly feature breaks but he is known for dropping unexpected belters which catch everyone by surprise.
