Bank Hotel

Sitting slap-bang in the middle of the Royal Mile, the three-star Bank Hotel's 2008 renovation offers something all too rare: theming. Yes, the bar is swanky and suffused with the buzz of tourists and happy Edinburghers en route to one of the nearby nightspots; yes, there's a yummy pub food menu; and yes, the transport links are pretty fantastic. But all of this pales into insignificance when one considers that each of Bank's nine suites are decorated in-the-style-of a famous Scot! Now, while The Skinny is unsure exactly what this might involve, we are most excited by the mere possibility that say, the Stevenson room contains replica neckerchiefs "in-the-style-of" Long John Silver...
