Operating from Argyle House, Space Club is an initiative which makes use of Edinburgh's unoccupied spaces. When landlords can't find tenants, Space Club seeks to negotiate with them to create affordable spaces for creative practitioners to use, thus, as they say, killing two birds with one stone! Creative types have a place to work and landlords receive a range of benefits, including saving money on bills and having their space occupied, refurbished and looked after.

Space Club also endeavours to make participation in the arts more accessible in the community by offering free workshops, exhibitions and performances. Argyle House sits in the heart of Edinburgh on Castle Terrace and began life as a government building. It hosts everything from craft fairs to art exhibitions and can also be used by budding artists for rehearsal space and meetings. There’s also some office space available which operates in a hot desking manner. The Skinny itself is a big fan of Space Club, and has previously made use of it during the Edinburgh Art Festival.
