Glasgow Fireworks 2017: Where to Watch Them

We look at some of the best places to see fireworks in Glasgow this Bonfire Night

Glasgow Green

When it comes to Glasgow fireworks, the best place to head is Glasgow Green. You'll be able to catch Scotland’s biggest fireworks display – a total spectacle (in the good sense), with tens of thousands expected to turn out, and it's all free! The 2017 Glasgow Green fireworks are on Sun 5 Nov; doors open at 5pm with a host of pre-explosion entertainment. The fireworks themselves launch at 7.30pm.

WEST Brewery

For a more refined look at those very fireworks, head across the Green to WEST Brewery, located in the old Templeton carpet factory. You’ll still be close enough to the action to smell the explosives, but with the added bonuses of tasty German-style beer, a bench to perch on (if you're quick), and a building to hide inside if the weather doesn’t hold up. WEST, Templeton Building, Glasgow Green

Drumchapel Park

Now over ten years old, Drumchapel Park's annual Winterfest also returns on 5 Nov from 5.30pm to 8pm. The fireworks get going at 7pm, but head down early for a variety of pre-explosion entertainment. What kind of entertainment, we hear you ask? Well, there's a robot – Titan, the faintly terrifying half-man half-'bot, to be precise.

GHA Fireworks Night

For southsiders eager to avoid a trip into town, the fireworks display at Glasgow Hutchesons' Aloysians (you can see why they went with GHA) rugby club is a welcome fillip. The kaboom-ing kicks off at 6.30pm, and the out-of-town location should make for a spectacular show. 4 Nov, tickets £7, details here.
