Glasgow Fireworks - Where to watch them

We look at some of the best places to see fireworks in Glasgow this Bonfire Night

Feature | 28 Oct 2015

Glasgow Green

When it comes to Glasgow fireworks, the best place to head is Glasgow Green, where you'll be able to catch Scotland’s biggest fireworks display – a total spectacle, with tens of thousands expected to turn out. The 2016 Glasgow Green fireworks are on Sat 5 Nov; the on-site entertainment (featuring food and funfairs!) kicks off at 5pm, the fireworks themselves launch at 7.30pm.

WEST Brewery

For a more refined look at those fireworks, head across the Green to WEST Brewery, located in the old Templeton carpet factory. You’ll still be close enough to the action to smell the explosives, but with the added bonuses of tasty German-style beer, a bench to perch on (if you're quick), and a building to hide inside if the weather doesn’t hold up. Drumchapel Park

Now over 10 years old, Drumchapel Park's annual Winterfest also returns on Saturday night from 4.30pm to 8.30pm. The fireworks get going at 7pm, but head down early for a variety of pre-explosion entertainment including a funfair, live music, and an appearance by Titan, the faintly terrifying half-man half-robot.

And for afters...

From absolutely freezing to total sweatbox, check out Groove Armada's Bonfire Night DJ set at SWG3. We're not ex-actly sure where the bonfire element comes in, but ey – hand your woolies into the cloakroom and go dance the night away.
