Happy New Year! It's been a while, but the Zap is officially back after a festive hiatus and a foodie takeover. Speaking of which, how are those NY resolutions going? Terribly? Awesome.

Time to focus your attention on something bigger – REVOLUTIONS (both in the global sense and the King Tut's sense). After kicking off on 4 Jan, the Wah Wah Hut's annual festival of grassroots music continues this week, hosting a flabberghastingly wicked programme of live shows and DJ sets from the likes of Elle Exxe, Mt. Doubt, Catholic Action and The Van T's. Find out more about the programme and ticketing here.

Join us this Friday at Electric Circus for the inaugural Skinny Bitches club night, where the women of The Skinny will be spinning the very nastiest in feminist pop til late.

Remake, Remix, Rip-Off
CCA, Glasgow, 19 Jan, 7pm
Wanna know something hilarious? In the 70s and 80s, Turkish filmmakers weren't bound by copyright law, giving them freedom to remake hundreds of Hollywood films without any repercussions. The result? Summat amazing. See it discussed in Cem Kaya's belting documentary, Remake, Remix, Rip-Off. Trailer here.
