This month sees Glasgow nicking some of the summer festival limelight with its very own Southside Fringe (12-28 May), a multifaceted cross-platform extravaganza taking place in some of Glasgae's quirkiest venues.

There's all-sorts planned, with a programme taking in visual art, workshops, spoken word, poetry, comedy, drama, cabaret, burlesque and music. If you're struggling to pick from the programme, a safe bet is Art on the Park, a day of live entertainment cherry-picked from the festival programme along with food and drink, new artworks, an art market and the launch of Southside Salon; all under the rarely spotted Glaswegian sun (hopefully).
