1. MUSIC | Tenement Trail
Various venues, Glasgow. 3 Oct, 2pm-11pm, £15 here

Glasgow media dudes Tenement TV host the third annual Tenement Trail all-day mini fest – this time spider-webbing across six neighbouring venues (The Art School, King Tut’s, Flat 0/1, Nice 'N' Sleazy, Broadcast, and O2 ABC), taking in a headline set at The Art School from fledgling Glasgow popsters White, plus stints from the likes of Neon Waltz, Holy Esque, Pinact, Man Of Moon (pictured), Atom Tree, and a too-many-to-name list more (full line-up here).
2. ART | Turner Prize 2015
Tramway, Glasgow. Opens 1 Oct, Tue-Sun, free

Prestigious visual art award the Turner Prize comes to Scotland for the first time, taking up residence at Glasgow's Tramway to showcase the work of the four shortlisted artists – Assemble, Bonnie Camplin, Janice Kerbel, and Nicole Wermers (pictured artwork) – alongside a programme of accompanying workshops, talks, tours, and activities (browse those here). The winner will be announced at the official ceremony on 7 December. Read our appraisal of the prize here.
3. COMEDY | Pure Riddy
The Glad Cafe, Glasgow. 7 Oct, 7.30pm, £6 (£4) here

After the success of last year's inaugural event as part of Glasgow's Southside Fringe Festival programme, the glorious cringe-fest that is Pure Riddy returns for round two – again inviting a selection of real life storytellers, amassed by open call, to gather in a darkened room and read aloud diary extracts from the personal tomes they kept as actual teenagers. Prepare to hang your head in solidarity/shame.
4. CLUBS | i AM: Enter Tron
The Art School, Glasgow. 2 Oct, 11pm, from £10 here

No strangers to a themed knees-up, i AM host another of their Tron-inspired nights – Enter Tron – this time converting both floors of The Art School into a visual representation of Steven Lisberger's 1982 sci-fi classic, with upstairs representing The Grid (where i AM's own Beta & Kappa will be on decks), while downstairs becomes Flynn's Arcade (with guest DJ Hush). Décor-wise, expect a hardware-shop full of production, lighting trickery, and projections: marvel at the last event's décor here.
5. FASHION | The Vintage Kilo Sale
Out of the Blue Drill Hall, Edinburgh. 3 Oct, 11am-4pm, £3 before noon (£1.50 after) on the door

Judy's Affordable Vintage Fair's buy-by-weight shopping event – The Vintage Kilo Sale – returns to Scottish shores, packing out Edinburgh's Out of the Blue Drill Hall with five actual tonnes of vintage clothing and accessories, from which shoppers can choose a pick'n'mix selection and pay just £15 a kilo (which will get you around four or five items). Or, go crazy and buy more than ten kilos and the price drops to a tenner. Best start stockpiling the winter woollies, eh?
ADVERTISEMENT | Snarky Puppy @ O2 ABC, Glasgow: 3 October

Grammy award-winning, Brooklyn jazz-funk unit Snarky Puppy play the O2 ABC, Glasgow on Saturday 3 October. 6. BOOKS | Two Minute Manifesto
Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. 1 Oct, 7pm, £8 (£6) here

The Two Minute Manifesto collective return for another debate divided into bite-sized portions, for which a handpicked batch of guests – among them Book Fest director Nick Barley, writer Hannah McGill, and musician Withered Hand (pictured) – will bring their personal manifesto to the stage, condensed into two minutes flat and told in a format of their choosing (i.e. let's hope that Withered Hand chappie does it in song), before being voted on by the audience.
7. CLUBS | Substance's 9th Birthday
The Bongo Club, Edinburgh. 2 Oct, 11pm, £7 (£6) here

The Substance clubbing crew ripen to the grand old age of nine, holing up in their regular home of The Bongo Club for a special celebration – joined by legendary Finnish renaissance man Kimmo Rapatti (aka Mono Junk, pictured) for a rare guest slot, capping a year that's seen them host Rodhad, DVS1, DJ Bone, and more, with Blawan next on the hit-list come November. And, to top it all, they'll be manning a room at our 10th birthday bash later in the month (details here).
8. MUSIC | Rozi Plain
The Hug and Pint, Glasgow. 5 Oct, 7.30pm, £8 here

Having quickly established itself as one of Glasgow finest new gig havens, this week The Hug and Pint brings some brightness to your Monday evening with a set from Lost Map Records label lass Rozi Plain, still riding the wave of her 2015 LP Friend (reviewed here) – a gem-like batch of ramshackle folk tunes built on hand-picked guitar lines, groove-laden drums, and her spell-like vocals. Support comes from harmonic locals Honey And The Herbs.

Franco-Scottish collab Auld Alliance Contemporary Exhibitions (AACE) returns for 2015, pairing three successful 80s graduates from Paris – Hélèn Lhote, Margat (pictured artwork), and Paella Chimicos – alongside a six-strong collective of up-and-coming Scottish artists, including a number of recent RSA New Contemporary exhibitors, spread across a duo of venues: E.D.S.
