1. CLUBS | Abandon Silence: Farewell to The Kazimier Part 2
The Kazimier, Liverpool. Fri 6 Nov, 10pm, £15 here 

As The Kazimier heads into its final weeks, Abandon Silence are upping the ante on their trilogy of farewell shows. After Move D and Space Dimension Controller topped the bill last month, the second instalment features some of the most established names on the European clubbing circuit, with veteran Berlin-based techno duo Âme joined by Glaswegian royalty Optimo. 2. FILM | ¡Viva! Film Festival

Gracia Querejeta's Spanish country-house drama Felices 140 opens the final season of the year for ¡Viva! film festival and its new Spanish cinema programme. Political thriller Lasa eta Zabala and blackly humorous animation Pos eso (pictured) are among the other films being showcased over five days. 3. MUSIC | Jenny Hval
Soup Kitchen, Manchester. Sun 8 Nov, 7.30pm, £8 here 

Following a stunning show at Gullivers this summer – which involved wigs, visuals of throwing up chains and karaoke – Norwegian solo artist Jenny Hval returns in support of her latest record Apocalypse, girl, an intensely delivered, multi-faceted deconstruction of issues around sexuality, capitalism and femininity. 4. ART | Human Futures Exposition
FACT, Liverpool. Fri 6 Nov-Sun 29 Nov, times vary, Free 

The culmination of an international collaboration between cultural partners in Liverpool, Aarhus, Berlin, Vienna and Montreal, Human Futures: Shared Memories and Visions sees eight artists – including Aram Bartholl, Michel de Broin, Darsha Hewitt and Sam Meech – showcase the results of their various residencies from across the globe, attempting to re-evaluate how we see our surroundings.
5. CLUBS | Blawan

It's fair to say that, since surfacing at the end of August in a decaying Salford industrial estate, new nightclub Hidden has been veritably nailing it with its lineups. This weekend looks to be no different, with south London based producer and DJ (and Ternesc innovator) Blawan heading up another loaded bill, which also features a stop-off from Australian DJ Bella Sarries on her current European tour, as well as Tardis Records' Eli Verveine.

Ladyfest 2015 features a mixture of legendary female performers, local favourites and up-and-coming bands from across the country, including Lesley Woods (ex Au Pairs), ILL, Ajah UK, Perkie, Viva Zapata, Brutalistas, Tekla, Factory Acts, WI, Galivantes, Esper Scout. Holly Robinson and Helen Walford.

As well as a musical lineup spanning 11 hours across two stages, we'll have comedy and spoken word, 'zines, stalls, film and a wide selection of discussions on consent, gender, sex worker rights and sisters uncut, as well as workshops for attendees to learn skills including 'zine making, self-defence, photography, music production and more.

6. BOOKS | Thought Bubble Festival

An annual celebration of sequential art in all its forms, Thought Bubble festival includes everything from superhero comics to independent and small-press artists and writers. This year it features guests including Nova Scotia-born Hark! A Vargrant author Kate Beaton and Marvel writer and Fear Agent creator Rick Remender, and it also plays host to this year's British Comic Awards.     
7. FOOD AND DRINK | Northern Coffee Festival
Victoria Warehouse, Manchester. Sat 7-Sun 8 Nov, 10am, prices vary here 

We've all had that feeling of leaving Victoria Warehouse on a weekend wired and wide awake – and this one should be no different thanks to the arrival of Cup North's two-day Northern Coffee Festival. With around three-dozen coffee bean enthusiasts – including Brew Tea Co, Grumpy Mule and Union – as well as classes and competitions in barista work and latte art, and a cinema showing dedicated coffee-themed films, there's going to be plenty to do to while away that caffeine-induced surge.
8. ART | Alien Sex Club

As part of multimedia project Alien Sex Club, local Liverpool-based artist Frances Disley demystifies the jargon, statistics and modes of dissemination associated with HIV and visual arts in collaboration with Dr Valerie Delpech. Taking influence from Delpech's research into HIV, Disley will be presenting a performance piece that layers the doctor's own words – spoken by an actor – with Disley's text and visuals.
9. BOOKS | Scribble Fest

Heywood's Cartwheel Arts return for their annual Scribble Fest – a literature and poetry festival with a wide range of workshops, Q&As and performances from some of the region's burgeoning writers. This year the programme includes singer-songwriter Jenna G (pictured) – who'll also perform musically – novelist Chris Killen and clubbing and culture writer Kamila Rymajdo.
10. CLUBS | Murlo
24 Kitchen Street, Liverpool. Sat 7 Nov, 11pm, from £3 here 


Hot Plate and Worried About Henry, two club nights that, separately, have made 24 Kitchen Street their own, now join forces for a hard-hitting night in the Baltic Triangle basement, welcoming ascendant producer Murlo, who returns to Liverpool to plug his new eight track EP, Odyssey.
