Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour

Leading the programme is The 306: Dawn, the first of a three-part musical cycle commemorating the First World War, directed by NTS artistic director Laurie Sansom. The show, which tells the stories of the 306 men shot for desertion during the First World War, will be staged in the Perthshire countryside from May 2016.

Other brand-new productions for the 2016 season include This Restless House (a trilogy of plays by Traverse associate director Zinnie Harris, inspired by Greek tragedy The Oresteia), comedy I Am Thomas (co-produced with the Lyceum in Edinburgh and the Everyman & Playhouse, Liverpool), and the conclusion of eight-month arts project Granite with a series of live performances at Aberdeen's Marischal College.

Elsewhere, The James Plays will open at Edinburgh's Festival Theatre in February before embarking on a tour of Scotland, England, Australia and New Zealand, while Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour will tour Scotland, the UK, Ireland and USA from May to September 2016, and David Greig and Wils Wilson's The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart will tour the USA and Scotland in Spring 2016.

NTS's award-winning theatrical adaptation of Swedish horror film Let the Right One In will also travel to South Korea, for a Korean-language restaging from January 2016.

Announcing the programme, NTS Artistic Director Laurie Sansom said the slate of productions "reflects a robust and aspiring national theatre, collaborating with artists and theatres across the country to make adventurous and powerful work."
