London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011

Blog by Alexandra Fiddes | 21 Sep 2010

Forget about the darkening of the nights, forget about the cooling of the breeze, and forget about Autumn’s imminent arrival, if only for a while...

September means it's time for London Fashion Week to showcase the Spring/Summer 2011 collections. Ignore shops full of layers and knits of A/W 2010 for the moment (block out the inner turmoil about whether or not the heating should be turned on) dream of next spring and have a gander at our favourite design gems.

1. The Skinny goes to LFW. Olivia (stylist) and Emma (writer) myself (Fashion Editor, taking the photo) outside the BFC main catwalk area... ready and raring to go!

On the Somerset House Terrace the NEWGEN (sponsored by Topshop) area was located, with each supported designers' collections housed in their own little white shed-like space.

2. Designers' postcards at the entrance.

3. Garments, bags and jewellery by Holly Fulton.

5. Cuff and glove by Fannie Schiavoni.

6-7. Gorgeous dress by J.JS Lee with a circular black acrylic section at the front and black mesh at the circular section at the back so the light shines through. Nicely illustrated here by the window in the designers shed!
