The Rapture - Pieces Of The People We Love

Punk-funk brilliance.

Single title: Pieces Of The People We Love
Artist: The Rapture

The New York four-piece get considerable help from their friends in Gnarls Barkley on this, the title track of their latest album. Danger Mouse twiddles the knobs and helps produce a taut and sophisticated slice of punk-funk brilliance, which, while not as immediate as House Of Jealous Lovers (not many things are), is just as infectious in its own, more understated way. Cee-Lo Green provides some colour on "na-na-na" backing vocals as the song slow-burns and slithers to a glorious wind up of swishing cymbals and electronic handclaps; thus showing why some friends should get together more often.
