Joe Viterbo - Devil on my Shoulder

Probably not aggressive or soulless enough to get big, but that's a good thing. Keep punk local.

Album title: Devil on my Shoulder
Artist: Joe Viterbo
Label: Self Released
Touching upon just about every permutation of punk from Oi! to ska, Joe Viterbo's 'Devil on my Shoulder' is the perfect cider music. Strongbow, mind, none of this organic nonsense peddled by the likes of Peckhams. And since cider-rules, Cider Punk must rule equally, right? Well there are some moments on this CD of bargain bin songage, and some shocking production, but hell, when you're this drunk, who cares? LeeAnn and Rod's two pronged bisexual vocal attack owes a healthy debt to folk, and while not churning out catchy throw-your-hands-in-the-air-spilling-cider-everywhere choruses, they're keeping shit bouncy. Aw, yeah, two more pints please, I spilt the last one all over my jeans. Joe Viterbo sound like they would be killer live but probably not aggressive or soulless enough to get big, but that's a good thing. Keep punk local. [Ali Maloney]
