Regal - Loop Dreams

Lovely moments of dub, funk and all manner of other grooves

Album Review by James Blake | 11 May 2007
Album title: Loop Dreams
Artist: Regal
Label: Unique
Loop Dreams is a good name for Regal's début solo album. Filled with lovely moments of dub, funk and all manner of other grooves, you can imagine a few folks chopping this up for their late-night bedroom sampler sets. Regal came to fame with The Wiseguys, where he added some of his chilled, swinging grooves to Executive Suite in collaboration with DJ Touché, the guy behind 1998 release, Ooh La La. You will probably feel you have heard some of his samples before, but he still manages to shape them into an album that you don't want to turn off. It's an album for lazy-hazy days, and for winding the tempo down. Take a dreamy trip with Regal's pscychedelic hip hop. [James Blake]
Released: Out now.
