Burn - Global Warning

Unashamedly melodic retro-rock.

Album title: Global Warning
Artist: Burn
Label: Formula One
Like firing up the DeLorean back to 1993 in search of the lost art of Rawk, Global Warning hurtles you back to a simpler time where rock 'n' roll could be played without irony, long-hair was prerequisite and no one cared if the singer was a denim-clad ugly bloke. Burn released two albums in 1993 and 1995 before falling apart under the weight of their own soft-lens solos and power-ballad expertise. This reformation picks up where they left off over a decade ago with unashamedly melodic retro-rock. More 'Father's Day Gift' than 'Pocket Money Treat' but the adherence to their 90s roots is admirable. [Jamie Borthwick]
