Bosco Rogers are alt-punk duo Barth and Del (aka the ordinarily named Barthélémy Corbelet and Delphinius Vargas), hailing from Albion’s balmy south coast, and they bring that fuzzy, beachy vibe to maiden release Googoo EP.

It’s a fast-cranked package at barely ten minutes, like an elevator pitch for the band. Garage rock opener Googoo isn’t even two minutes itself, while In Stereo is a sleazy blitz (“checking out her naked,” they wink). Corner to Corner’s shiny na-na-nas give an otherwise lo-fi record a bit of gleam, much like the gents’ own scruff-meets-expensive-Ray-Bans aesthetic. It’s The Middle that saves the day though, radio-ripe but oh so catchy, thanks to its whistling hooks, tambourine-led rhythm section, and just the right lick of astrobelt distortion. [George Sully]
