Add Noise - Handwerk 3

Single review by Steve Glencross.
Published 04 June 2008

There’s a stream of techno coming out of Berlin at the moment (MMM, Soundhack, MDR etc) that’s just amazing. Considering the strong links with the Hard Wax record store, it should come as no surprise that it's purist, abstract and obsessed with anonymity; there's no track titles for starters. Both pieces employ a distorted / hypnotic sound best listened to in dark spaces with an open mind, and recall a golden era of techno, or maybe just a myth of a golden era. Add Noise are part of a new school of purists, pushing raw uncompromising club music that’s focused on looking to the future.
