For those who aren't familiar with Holger Zilske: he's one half of Berlin’s Smash TV, the duo responsible for a string of top releases on labels like B-Pitch and Playhouse. He doesn’t push out much solo material, so when he does it’s well worth keeping an ear out, as he's got a knack for producing cracking tunes. This is his first outing on the Barcelona-based Factor City label and Zilske does them proud, dropping a quality piece of minimal club techno, held together by slick percussion, a molded sci-fi synth lick and cool atmospherics. It sticks out like a sore thumb from the rest of the decidedly average tech gear doing the rounds. The only disappointment is the two remixes, coming from label regulars Undo & D.A.R.Y.L, both of which find it impossible to compete with the original. But then what did you expect?
