A few years ago 2ManyDJs and their live alter egos Soulwax were seen as the cult choice, with their early Radio Soulwax compilations and LPs still fairly underground. Fast-forward to 2007 and their popularity has soared across both incarnations. Soulwax have had success with tunes such as E Talking, but their real strength has been their fantastic remix ability. This latest CD is a welcome remix best-of collection from Stephen and David Dewaela, the brothers from Ghent behind Soulwax. On the first CD we have the brilliant if over-killed remix of Gossip, the legendary Kylie remix, a surprisingly good Robbie Williams mix and the excellent Robot Rock from Daft Punk, all given the Soulwax treatment to excellent effect. The second CD is an enjoyable mix from 2ManyDJs, although all the tracks are identical to the mixes on the first. [Sean McNamara]
