Full of contemporary sounds, laid-back grooves and a chilled-out vibe

Album title: Avantgarde Soul Stuff
Artist: Lasal Vol 2
Label: Lasal Records
This is the second compilation from legendary beach bar Lasal, located on Mataro Beach in Barcelona, and host to many internationally acclaimed artists including DJ Vadim, The Herbaliser and Seiji (Bugz in the Attic). Full of contemporary sounds, laid-back grooves and a chilled-out vibe, this is perfect for long, hot nights. A varied mix, ranging from funky soul to broken beats, with the occasional latino rhythm thrown in for good measure. This compilation is simply a collection of tunes the bar loves to play, and the ones that get the crowds going - which is certainly no bad thing. Standouts include Trinity Roots' The Dream, and Jneiro Jarel's Get Yuh Own, both soulful dance tunes ideal for when the sun starts to set. This fashionable collection is oozing with quality music from across the globe: twisted hip hop, reggae, jazz and proper house – a classic summer album. [Karen Taggart]
