Idlewild - No Emotion

Single title: No Emotion
Artist: Idlewild
Label: Sequel
As Idlewild embark on a heavy schedule to promote their new, soon to be released album, the title of their opening single, 'No Emotion' seems rather apt considering the heavily produced, rather generic sound that has been achieved. Whilst this feel-good, dance rock/pop number may be slightly devoid of the stuff that makes us human, it is nonetheless a mature, well-worked piece of music. Perhaps it is the radio-friendly nature of this track that makes it so ordinary. Or perhaps it is the band's maturity. In a world where edgy, messy arrangements are the flavour of the month, this single may just provide the desired antidote; or maybe – in most cases certainly - it will fast fade from memory.
