Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin - Broom

Breezy summer music released just in time for the late-autumn lull.

Album Review by Neil Ferguson | 12 Dec 2006
Album title: Broom
Artist: Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin
Label: Polyvinyl
Recorded in an attic and a living room, the apparent aim of Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin was to make the local releases bin. Filled with sunny pop anthems, Broom flashes unabashed nods to The Postal Service and manic glares at The Shins and still maintains enough diversity to make it interesting. Occasionally delving into the feel-good vibes of Weezer's Green Album, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin have managed to write a shameless pop record with just a little twist. All easy on the ears, and flowing effortlessly between songs, Broom is breezy summer music, released just in time for the late-autumn lull. [Neil Ferguson]
