Cloud Sounds #4: Tim Burgess, Kelis & Mount Kimbie, Teebs and more

Article | 07 Feb 2014

On this week's Cloud Sounds, a weekly playlist of new music curated by The Skinny, we've got a far-reaching, wide-ranging selection for you, leading off with the new track from Charlatans frontman and O Genesis label boss Tim Burgess. His track Oh, Men is being released on vinyl for Record Store Day, backed with a cover of an Arthur Russell song, I Couldn't Say It To Your Face. We'll be doing a regular round-up of Record Store Day releases as the big day approaches, and this will surely feature again... so keep your eyes peeled.

We've also got a track from US R 'n' B diva Kelis, who returns very soon with a new album on UK label Ninja Tune - her track Jerk Ribs gets a vigorous re-rub from post-post-dubstep duo Mount Kimbie. Elsewhere, there's the return of rap phenomenon Pharoahe Monch, a remix of recent Liars track Mess on a Mission from producer Silent Servant, another newly-revealed track from Ghostly synth wizard Com Truise, and a preview of a new track from Teebs, due for release on Brainfeeder.

We also feature a track from Jozef Van Wissem & SQÜRL, taken from the new vampire film by US cinema's king of the high weird, Jim Jarmusch, Only Lovers Left Alive; Gallic shoegaze from Sudden Death of Stars; deeply strange business from Thomas Truax; and hyperactive pop punk from Johnny Foreigner. Check out the whole playlist below, and follow The Skinny on SoundCloud to keep up to date with our favourites.
