Where You’re Meant To Be tour & album announced

A string of tour dates have been announced for new documentary Where You're Meant To Be, starring former Arab Strap frontman Aidan Moffat, have been announced.

Following the film's premiere at this month's Glasgow Film Festival, the Paul Fegan-directed film – which follows Moffat and late folk balladeer Sheila Stewart on a journey through Scottish music – will play at cinemas in Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and across the country in March and April. The full list of tour dates can be found below.

Talking to The Skinny ahead of the film's premiere, Moffat said: "It has quite a dark sense of humour, and a humility to it that’s very Scottish. Scots aren’t very good at shouting about how brilliant they are, so it is quite self-deprecating in that respect. But hopefully it shows the roots of the music." Read our recent interview with Aidan Moffat on Where You're Meant To Be here.

The release date for the accompanying album, featuring reworked versions of Scottish folk classics by Moffat and his band including members of Bdy_Prts and The Twilight Sad, has also been confirmed. The album is out on 25 March via Kiss My Beard – listen to Moffat's sweary take on I'm A Rover in the player. Where You're Meant To Be premieres at the Barrowlands, as part of the 2016 Glasgow Film Festival, on 19 Feb.
