A crowdfunding campaign for Carlisle psych quartet The Lucid Dream has raised nearly £7,000 in a matter of days, as the band attempt to replace their stolen equipment.

A mere one date into their European tour in support of third album Compulsion Songs, on 2 March the band discovered that their van had been broken into overnight, following a show at Supersonic in Paris, with all their equipment stolen. Some of the equipment had belonged to members of the band since their teens, and the remainder of their dates were subsequently cancelled.

The crowdfunding campaign was launched the following day, with an ultimate target of £10,000, while high-profile fans including Portishead's Geoff Barrow, The Brian Jonestown Massacre's Anton Newcombe and Tim Burgess were swift to lend their support.

"As everyone knows music is what we live for," The Lucid Dream explain. "We hope, with a little help from our friends and fans, that we can look to replace some of the equipment we have lost so that we can continue to gig and record music. We have been blown away with the show of support from everyone so far and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

You can pledge to the campaign here; The Lucid Dream are scheduled to play The Deaf Institute, Manchester (13 May) and The Shipping Forecast, Liverpool (6 May).
