T Break 2009 Opens For Submissions

Feature by Katy Hutcheson | 17 Mar 2009

T Break was founded in 1996 and has been an essential foot in the door for many an unsigned Scottish band ever since, having included early doors performances by the likes of Biffy Clyro, Attic Lights and The Cinematics in recent years. Basically, this is a unique opportunity for Scottish bands to be heard by the right people and the incredible experience of performing at Scotland’s biggest summer music event, T in the Park.

This year's judging panel consists of a panel including representatives from Radio 1 and HMV who will be deciding upon which artists will be given the chance to advance their musical careers the T Break way. 16 of the most talented and exciting bands will then be awarded a slot on the T Break Stage at T in the Park 2009.

You will be sharing the bill, and maybe even a pint or two, with Blur, Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction and many more. Over the last few years there has been a specific artists area at T in the Park and once all the festivities have calmed down a CD sampler will be launched UK wide featuring the T Break artists.

To enter you must be an unsigned musical act resident in Scotland, be over the age of 18 and performing original material. Get your demos uploaded onto their website here .

Closing date for submissions is 15 April.

T in the Park takes place between 10-12 July at Balado, Kinrosshire.
