Welsh psychedelic rockers Super Furry Animals have announced a string of gigs this May, their first in six years, along with a reissue of fourth album Mwng.

The band play two nights at the Great Hall at Cardiff University on 1 and 2 May, before playing Glasgow’s O2 Academy on the 5th, the Albert Hall in Manchester on the 6th, and the O2 Academy in Brixton on 8 May.

Frontman Gruff Rhys teamed up with drummer Dafydd Ieuan on ‘Married 2 Me’, the Valentine’s Day release by Ieuan’s new band The Earth – listen to the track, which we premiered exclusively back in January.

The band have also confirmed a 15th anniversary reissue of the out-of-print Mwng, their only album to be performed in Welsh. The new version of the album contains tracks previously only available on the US version of the album, as well as live recordings from ATP and sessions for the late John Peel.

Mwng is out on 1 May via Domino; tickets for Super Furry Animals’ May 2015 gigs go on sale on Thu 5 Mar at 9am.
