Feature by The Skinny | 10 Apr 2017

The Scottish Album of the Year longlist will be unveiled at a gig at the ABC in Glasgow next month

Admiral Fallow, Mungo's Hi-Fi and an acoustic set from former Beta Band frontman Steve Mason have been announced for the SAY Award's new Live at the Longlist gig in Glasgow next month. The show – at Glasgow's O2 ABC on 24 May – will feature the announcement of the 20 albums on this year's longlist for the £20,000 prize, as well as sets from the previously-longlisted artists.

Around 300 albums were put forward for consideration for this year's SAY Award, with May's longlist eventually whittled down to a ten-strong shortlist in June. This year's SAY Award will be handed out on 28 June at Paisley Town Hall. Bill Wells and Aiden Moffat won the inaugural SAY Award in 2012 for Everything's Getting Older, with RM Hubbert (Thirteen Lost & Found), Young Fathers (Tape Two) and Kathryn Joseph (Bones You Have Thrown Me and Blood I've Spilled) also triumphing. Anna Meredith won last year's award for her debut album Varmints – read our report from the 2016 SAY Award ceremony in Paisley.

Tickets for Live at the Longlist go on sale on Wed 12 April via sayaward.com.
