Following a knockout year in 2017, which featured surprise performances from the likes of Amadou & Mariam and Princess Nokia, alongside curatorial line-ups from Perfume Genius, Jerusalem in My Heart and James Holden, Le Guess Who? reveal that New York-based artists Kembra Pfahler, Johanna Constantine and Anohni will present their iconic project, Future Feminism, at this year's edition of the festival which runs in Utrecht from 8-11 November.

Curated by director and activist Asia Argento, Future Feminism will present a special theatrical performance based around the 13 Tenets of Future Feminism: The Future is Female. Of the live performance, Pfahler describes it as “trying to puzzle together the pieces of a sustainable future. This is why Future Feminism was created, and this is what we'll be singing about for the first event of this festival.” The Future Feminism project will also feature a discussion and film programme.

Also joining the bill this year is independent record label RVNG Intl. who are presenting a selection of performances across the festival which will include Russian electronic artist Kate NV, Colombian experimental producer Lucrecia Dalt, New York percussionist Greg Fox and British avant-cellist Oliver Coates. The Brooklyn label’s FRKWYS series will also get an airing at the festival with a new collaboration being recorded in Utrecht by Finnish electronic composer Pekka Airaksinen and NYC-based multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Ka Baird; Vancouver vocalist and composer Ian William Craig and Californian minimalist and visual artist Daniel Lentz will also premiere at the festival.

The 12th edition of Le Guess Who? will also feature ONCEIM, the Orchestre de Nouvelles Créations, Expérimentations et Improvisations Musicales, a 34-strong orchestra who will present two immersive pieces at the festival – Gruides, a drone-inspired collaboration with Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley, and Occam Océanm, the result of a two-year collaboration with Éliane Radigue, a leading figure in French contemporary music.

South African performance art duo FAKA, Amsterdam-based DJ, producer and vocalist LYZZA, experimental musician Eartheater, psychedelic sci-fi pop act Orchestra of Spheres, performance artist and illustrator Joe Coleman and actor and astral pop artist Rose McGowan are just some of the artists joining the curated line-ups from Devendra Banhart, Moor Mother, Asia Argento and Shabaka Hutchings, which also feature the likes of Art Ensemble of Chicago, The Breeders, Sons of Kemet XL, Ebo Taylor, Vashti Bunyan and Saul Williams & King Britt present Unanimous Goldmine.
