Canadian actor Jay Baruchel, of How to Train Your Dragon and This is the End fame, is to star in the video for Idlewild’s new single Every Little Means Trust.

Baruchel, a fan of the band since his teenage years, will star in the Highland-set video, Idlewild’s first in over eight years. Describing his relationship with the band, Jay says: “Idlewild have been the soundtrack of my life since I first heard them in Bristol when I was 19. I was lucky enough to be near the radio when ‘You Held The World In Your Arms’ came on and it was epic and anthemic and that was it.

“It was like hearing a favourite band that I’d somehow never heard before.”

Every Little Means Trust is taken from Idlewild’s new LP Everything Ever Written – to celebrate the band’s return, we shot an exclusive session with the band, playing seven tracks from across their seven albums. Watch their stripped-down version of the new single in the player above.

Every Little Means Trust is released as a single on 27 Apr; Everything Ever Written is out now – read our review of the new album here
