Mickey – made up of Alex Konrad and Clemens Wihlidal – hail from the village of Uhliska in Slovakia, and in their own words the duo's sound is "made with mobile phone recordings over low-budget beats from a 2009 laptop, and a twist of funk guitar." Overtime, the title track from their upcoming debut album, is built on those beats, as well as a funky bassline and lyrics about the depressing realities of modern working life. Meanwhile, Overtime's video – which you can watch in the player above, or on YouTube here – is a mixture of surrealist urban walkabout and some top-notch shadow puppetry.

Introducing the track and video, Mickey's Alex Konrad says: "Mickey videos are made with a small sort of 'Guerilla' crew and just a rough concept, where the main part of the ideas and inspiration then happen on location. Some influences for sound and picture are definitely Swiss artist Beni Bischof, Monty Python and some of Banksy's work.

"Overtime is about the promise that everyone can make it to the top, if they just work hard enough. It’s about paying back your loan or credit card bills, or both."

Overtime by Mickey is out on 16 Mar via Ink Music.
