MADES – Never Lonely (Video Premiere)

MADES has spent the last five years developing her sound across four of Europe’s capital cities; Brussels, Budapest and Edinburgh, where she studied Fine Art, before embarking on film studies in Berlin. MADES recently moved back to Glasgow and has been working with producer Lewis Gardiner (formerly of Prides). Defying a one-genre definition, MADES’ sound exhibits shades of electro, pop and indie. Opting for an acronym, MADES represents Musician, Artist, Director, Editor and Songwriter. Her debut EP is due for release later this year. 

Never Lonely is MADES' debut single and The Skinny are pleased to be premiering her debut music video to accompany the track. "Originally written as a response to enduring hard times in a relationship, Never Lonely became this sort of mantra for me after that relationship ended," she tells us. "The words took on a new meaning and the whole message of the song became about self love and acceptance. Therefore the idea of using mirrors for the video came pretty instantly.

"I love playing with the materiality of objects in my visual work so I knew making a video with mirrors would give interesting visual results. Usually my visuals crystallise the song's meaning but in the case of Never Lonely I enjoy that the video communicates a completely new and different understanding of the lyrics."
