Fred Schneider & The Superions – Strip Search (Track Premiere)

Listen to the new track from The B-52's frontman Fred Schneider & The Superions

Feature by Music Team | 21 Jun 2017

The Superions – made up of Noah Brodie, Dan Marshall and Fred Schneider – are a dadaist synth-pop trio with a penchant for the silly, fun and ridiculous. Their new album The Vertical Mind features songs on petting zoo stampedes, as well as odes to Vegas strip clubs and foreign meatballs, while lead single Konichiwa features Schneider singing hello in 12 different languages. At a time of self-consciousness, The Superions' anarchic approach may be exactly what we need right now.

We're delighted to share the premiere of album track Strip Search ahead of the release of The Vertical Mind this Friday. Describing the track, Schneider says: "It seemed that air travel had hit an all time low under the Bush regime, the worst president I had endured. Security lines and searches were a nightmare. One funny moment was when a young guy was overheard saying: 'Hey man, don't touch my junk.' Now we have the worst president in history and so it goes on! Oh, and Noah, Dan, and I love striptease music, lol." Listen to Strip Search in the player below.

The Vertical Mind by Fred Schnieder & the Superions is out on LP and download on 23 Jun via HHBTM Records; pre-order here.
