LUCIA is an up and coming garage-pop artist from Glasgow – for the past 10 months she has been writing, recording and releasing tracks from her debut EP Best Boy, which was originally released on cassette in 2016 via Glasgow label Dead Beet Records. The EP is set to be re-released on 10” vinyl later this year.

Of the EP, LUCIA tells The Skinny: “The songs are simple, true and I feel like they’re easy for anyone to relate to. Each track has been followed by a super-DIY music video that I have created with friends in bedrooms, bars, and even industrial fridges…"

Written and recorded with bandmate Roxy Agogo, in his studio, “Saturday Is Dead was the last song off the EP,” continues LUCIA. “The song is about going on nights out; they’re always the same, there’s always drama and arguments between lovers, and you get bored of it sometimes. Although it’s a pretty negative thought, the song is uplifted by its disco beat and fuzz-filled guitars.

“The video was filmed in The Priory bar in Glasgow by Neelam Khan Vela and Ronan Park,” she explains. “I pretty much went into the bar with lots of shiny material, disco balls, cool lights and a smoke machine and attempted to turn it into my dream nightclub.”
