Get A Room @ Brunswick Hotel

like a night that struggled to keep a grip of itself and then thought - fuck it, let's have it

The Get a Room phenomenon played itself out to another full house in the Brunswick Hotel last month, raising over four thousand quid for children's charities The Way Home and Children 1st. Opening up the entire hotel (from basement to penthouse) has a strangely pleasing effect, and the sum of the parts definitely exceeded the whole. The night sparkled with energy, pounding through the walls with a different style in every room/bar/kitchen/club, instigated by the many, many bands and DJs who populated the hotel. Queuing up to represent the bands there were: the 1990s, Stellastar*, The Sound Development Agency, The Crisis Project, Lou Hickie and the Lovebites, Wildlife and about a hundred more. DJs Billy Woods, big Kev, Audiolove and Kinky Afro were to-a-man on form upstairs. Barely managing to keep within respectable bounds, it was like a night that struggled to keep a grip of itself and then thought - fuck it, let's have it. [Fraser Cardow]

The next Get a Room is on September 9.
