Space @ O2 ABC2, Glasgow, 7 Apr

In need of a trip down memory lane? Then look no further than the O2 ABC2 tonight as Liverpudlian outfit Space are set to grace the stage. Having been on the scene since 1993, this four-piece were a major part of the britpop movement of the mid-90s with big hits like Female of the Species, Neighbourhood and The Ballad of Tom Jones among their repertoire. Erol Alkan (All Night Long) – To the Rhythm @ The Caves, Edinburgh, 14 Apr

London-based Erol Alkan is a massive name in the world of electro. A prominent DJ and producer since the 90s, he’s remixed everyone from Justice, Mylo and Franz Ferdinand to Hot Chip, Depeche Mode and Tame Impala, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Edinburgh has a long and loving relationship with Erol from massive New Year’s Eve parties to sweaty nights in Sneaky Pete’s, and following the release of his 2017 compilation Reworks Volume 1 this will surely be a sell out. Electrikal’s 8th birthday @ The Bongo Club, Edinburgh, 20 Apr

Electrikal Sound System are becoming somewhat of an Edinburgh institution and tonight at The Bongo Club marks eight years of them throwing parties. Expect some of the biggest bassline, drum’n’bass, dubstep, grime, UK garage and everything in between that will get the walls shaking and your heads vibrating. 2018 is set to be a massive year for Electrikal so this is one bass-heavy party not to miss. weEH6 @ Various Venues, Edinburgh, 25-26 May  

weEH6 is the little brother to Edinburgh’s EH6 Festival and takes place across the last bank holiday weekend in May. A two day music, beer and food festival, it will take place at venues including The Old Dr Bells Baths, Woodland Creatures and The Constitution with performances set from The Enemy’s Tom Clarke who’ll be playing the band’s 2007 album We Live and Die in These Towns in full. As well as Clarke, other artists set to play include Aaron Wright, Carly Connor, Black Cat Bone, Miracle Glass Company, Ayakara and Carrie Mac. Enjoy Music @ Hazelhead Park, Aberdeen, 1-2 Jun

If you enjoy music, and specifically music that comes with a sprinkling of nostalgia, then you should absolutely 100% head to Aberdeen’s Enjoy Music festival in Hazelhead Park this June. Taking the form of a two day extravaganza, Enjoy Music will feature DJ sets from two massive UK dance music legends in Faithless and Basement Jaxx, whose collective hits from the late nineties and early noughties still feel as fresh today. Fiesta x FOLD 2018 @ Kelvingrove Park, Glasgow, 30 Jun - 1 Jul

The 70s are back and you can find them in Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park this summer all thanks to Fiesta x FOLD, the brand new festival brought to you by the team behind The West End Fiesta, who have collaborated with everyone’s favourite guitarist, disco legend and producer extraordinaire, Nile Rodgers. Live performances at Fiesta x FOLD can be expected from Earth, Wind & Fire and The Pointer Sisters as well as Nile Rodgers & Chic with more to be announced. Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival @ Belladrum Estate, Inverness, 2-4 Aug

Since its 2004 origins, Belladrum Tartan Heart has thrived on its communal atmosphere, referred to lovingly by the locals as simply Bella. The last nine years of the festival have sold out and their 2018 line-up so far is easily gearing them up for a tenth with performances already confirmed from Paloma Faith, Amy Macdonald, The Charlatans and Songhoy Blues, along with Selkirk’s finest, Frightened Rabbit who’ll be performing The Midnight Organ Fight in full as it celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.
