Low Four – Manchester's new recording studio and online music platform, based in Manchester's Old Granada Studios – has announced first birthday celebrations on Sat 27 May, with a live-streamed party featuring ethereal cosmic-pop purveyor Jane Weaver

Weaver's headlining performance will be followed by live sets from former WU LYF vocalist and bassist Francis Lung and Low Four's talent development scheme winners OLA, along with Dutch Uncles and Werkha DJ sets.

The event will also launch the studio's new record label, Low Four Recordings, with forthcoming single releases including synth-pop duo Koalas and Makemake, the project of Manchester producer Brendan Williams, which features Everything Everything's Michael Spearman and Dutch Uncles’ Robin Richards.

Co-founder Dan Parrott said: “The concept for Low Four was to reflect and reaffirm Manchester's international reputation for music but to also nurture new talent. In terms of recording we are already working with some of Manchester’s best new acts and a record label would allow us to naturally extend the platform.”
