Multi-floor food and drink palace Trof on Thomas Street is celebrating a decade of being ace with a (very) long Bank Holiday weekend of events, including a miniature edition of Stay Fresh Fest, the Deaf Institute's flagship new music festival, on the Monday.

The festival pops up at Trof NQ on Mon 29 May with a very special bill featuring some of the hottest emerging acts in the North, all playing for free. Catch a live line-up of chaotic Manchester lot Mold, Liverpool's formidable art-pop group Pink Kink and local pop-rockers Grotbags for precisely none of your pounds, with doors open from 7pm. Check out the poster below.

Other highlights of the week-long bonanza include a special DJ set from Jimi Goodwin of Doves, a takeover by The Skinny's favourite club Wet Play, a birthday-themed quiz and a guest party from Albert Hall residents La Discotheque.

Find out more about the weekend's activities – all of which are free entry – here. You'll probably be wanting to book that Tuesday (and Wednesday, and Thursday) off work...
