Soulwax (live) @ SWG3, Glasgow, 15 Jul

David and Stephen Dewaele’s resume is one of high acclaim full of dance magic: together they have toured the globe as 2manydjs; they run their own DEEWEE label; they run the Despacio project with LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, and together they are Soulwax! Their latest banger of an album, Essential, takes joy in the exploration of the word ‘essential’ with tracks named Essential One, Essential Two and so on all the way through to Essential Twelve. This Soulwax show is an essential for any lover of dance music. Tickets £24.50

Saturn presents Dalfie (Pets Recordings / Glasgow Underground) @ The Gellions, Inverness, 28 Jul

Inverness club night Saturn are back at the end of July for a pay weekend party upstairs in the Gellions Bar on Bridge Street and they’ve invited special guest Dalfie along to lead the way on the tubs. Dalfie, perhaps best known for his regular appearances for Colours at Glasgow’s much missed The Arches, is bringing all things house, techno and everything in between to Saturn and will be joined by the club night’s residents Ross Calder and Darren Hamilton for a party not to be sniffed at. Kyle Falconer @ Church, Dundee, 2 Aug

Kyle Falconer is best known as the frontman of Dundee indie pop-rock band The View, but after five albums with the band 2018 sees the singer-songwriter go it alone, releasing his debut solo record No Thank You via a Pledge Music campaign. Catch him on 2 August at Dundee’s Church where he’ll surely be playing loads of new cuts, but maybe with a smattering of older more familiar tunes thrown in for good measure. Tickets £15

Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival @ Belladrum Estate, Inverness, 2-4 Aug

Paloma Faith, Primal Scream, Amy Macdonald, The Charlatans, Professor Green, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Beth Orton, Songhoy Blues and Pumarosa are just some of the artists you can expect to enjoy at the tenth instalment of Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival. Frightened Rabbit were also set to perform The Midnight Organ Fight in full at the festival, but sadly due to the loss of much-loved Scott Hutchison this will no longer go ahead. Instead, Bella will be playing the band’s seminal album in full accompanied by a video tribute to Scott. Three-day weekend ticket £146

Renata Rose @ St Vincent’s Chapel, Edinburgh, 10 Aug

This is an incredibly rare visit to the UK for Brazilian singer-songwriter Renata Rose so don’t let the madness of the Edinburgh International Festival or Fringe get on top of you. Rose will be bringing her rabeca and unique polythmic harmonies to Edinburgh in August with her musical influences spanning that of European, African, Arab and indigenous Brazilian. Nominated for Songlines Best Artist Award 2018, this August show in the beautiful surrounds of Edinburgh’s St Vincent’s Chapel is a must. Tickets £18

Jackhammer presents Dave Clarke, Ben Sims and Stephen Brown @ La Belle Angele, Edinburgh, 24 Aug

Jackhammer have not one, but two parties planned for the Cowgate’s La Belle Angele this summer; the first features Mike Dred and Jerome Hill on 28 July while the second, on 24 August, will feature sets from Dave Clarke and Ben Sims plus a live set from Stephen Brown to help get you in the mood. This one will also feature a second room with a Sleaze Records showcase including sets from Hans Bouffmyhre and Lex Gorrie. Oh, and it’s the festival, so the 5am licence will be in full effect. Leith Docks Sound System @ Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh, 24 & 25 Aug

The mighty Nightvision crew are back for another massive Bank Holiday weekend party, this time it’s with their gargantuan Leith Docks Sound System taking over part of the Ocean Terminal complex in Edinburgh. Friday's line-up includes Peggy Gou, Midland and Mike Servito; Saturday will feature sets from Patrick Topping, Richy Ahmed, and Ejeca (Trans Wax). There are also very special guests TBA for both days. Tickets £30-35

Sub Club Soundsystem 2018 @ Barras Art and Design, Glasgow, 25 & 26 Aug

Sub Club Soundsystem is Subbie’s annual two-day, above ground, day and night party which this year will take place across the last weekend of August at Barras Art and Design. The Bank Holiday weekend rave-up, now in its fourth year, so far features Motor City Drum Ensemble and KiNK on the Saturday with The Black Madonna and Midland on the Sunday. Can’t really argue with that can you? Tickets £35-65

Perc (Perc Trax) @ The Tunnels, Aberdeen, 1 Sep

What’s better than one big Scottish promoter putting on a club night? The answer of course is TWO big Scottish promoters putting on a club night. To mark the start of September, and inevitably the definite end of winter, TLF and Pulse have come together to bring techno giant Perc to Aberdeen’s The Tunnels. Perc and his Perc Trax label are respected worldwide so this is set to be quite the night for techno fans. Darrell Hardin, Tim Haux, Greg Gibb and Sean Laird will be on support duty.
