Vote for the Scottish Album of the Decade
With the noughties fast coming to a close, it's time to get the definitive answer on a question which has fuelled a few pub debates around these parts in recent months: What was the Scottish album of the decade?*
Rather than produce a shortlist from our arse, we want to compile your opinions for a future issue of The Skinny. To cast a vote please place your nomination in the subject heading of an e-mail and send it in to dave@theskinny.co.uk by no later than 5pm on Friday 6th November.
Alternatively you can tell us who you think should take the honours in the comments section below.
*Released on or after 1 January 2000.

Report to moderatorAereogramme - Sleep and Release. Stunning, stunning piece of work by a much missed band. One of the greatest opening riffs to an album ever, and no let up in its feral power right to the final hum of feedback.

Report to moderatorMuch as I love both Mogwai and Arab Strap, I feel their best work was done in the 1990s, and would fight shy of nominating their lesser albums.
How about Life Without Building's Any Other City (2001)?

Report to moderatorFor my money all of the following would be contenders: Geogaddi by Boards of Canada, the debut from Uncle John, Twilight Sad's 14 Autumns, 15 Winters and two massively notable ommisions - Mend by Derosa and No Ceremony by Y'all is Fantasy Island! Oh and the Remember, Remember album was pretty good!

Report to moderatorI have to go for 1) Primal Scream - XTRMNTR 2) Mogwai - Mr Beast and 3)The Delgados - Hate.
BTW...As much as I love the first 2 Mogwai albums, they are records from the 90's.
