Nick Talbot aka Gravenhurst dies aged 37

We're shocked and saddened to hear that singer-songwriter and journalist Nick Talbot – aka Gravenhurst – has died at the age of 37, as confirmed by his manager and record label this afternoon.

Talbot was in the midst of preparing for a UK tour to see in the ten-year anniversary of his work with Warp Records, who reissued Flashlight Seasons and Black Holes In The Sand, alongside a new compilation of unreleased material from that period just this week.

His manager Michell Hilborne led tributes, describing Talbot as “outstandingly intelligent, compassionate, fascinating and witty”.

Talbot’s label Warp said: “We are shocked and saddened to share the news that Nick Talbot aka Gravenhurst has passed away aged 37. An immensely talented singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and journalist, he will be hugely missed. Nick's family and friends request privacy at this difficult time.”
