Riot Grrrl trio Sleater-Kinney are set to return with their first new studio album in a decade. Due out in January 2015, the surprise effort will arrive ahead of a trio of UK gigs in March.

Corin Tucker, Carrie Brownstein and Janet Weiss recorded new LP No Cities to Love in a string of secret recording sessions in San Francisco in early 2014. The album is their first since going on an "indefinite hiatus" in 2006, following the release of The Woods in 2005.

As well as the new album, Sleater-Kinney will return to these shores for a string of UK shows next spring. The band play the Albert Hall in Manchester on 24 Mar, and the O2 ABC in Glasgow the following day.

No Cities to Love is out on CD and vinyl on 19 Jan 2015, via Sub Pop. Tickets for Sleater-Kinney’s March 2015 UK shows go on sale at 9am on Fri 24 Nov.
