Track Premiere: Ubre Blanca – 'Red Skies'

Get an exclusive first listen to Red Skies from Ubre Blanca’s new EP Terminal Island here at The Skinny.

The track sees Remember Remember drummer Andy Brown and former Shitdisco man Joel Stone build on their 80s-inspired synths-and-drums sound in the wake of debut EP Polygon Mountain, which grabbed a four-star review from us last November.

Red Skies features on forthcoming four-track release Terminal Island, out later this month on limited edition 12’’ vinyl with hand-painted cover artwork produced by Stone.

Unveiling the track, Brown says: "On Polygon Mountain we were taking cues from science fiction and space disco, with Terminal Island we've instead attempted to capture the drug-fuelled aggression, tension and emotion of 1980s action films & TV; stuff like Assault On Precinct 13, The Warriors and Miami Vice.

"It's the musical soundtrack to rolled-up jacket sleeves, venetian blinds, white open-top sports cars and the existential ennui of a conquering druglord."

Ubre Blanca play the CCA in Glasgow on Mon 6 Oct at the launch party for Casual Sex’s double A-side single 'A Perfect Storm / Pissing Neon', and play The Pleasance Sessions in Edinburgh alongside Two Wings and Prehistoric Friends on Thu 16 Oct. They also play The Art School in Glasgow on Thu 27 Nov.

Terminal Island is available to pre-order via Clan Destine Records.
