On Tour: The Afghan Whigs, Nine Inch Nails, Albert Hammond Jr., The Warlocks and more

Just announced, resurgent soul rock mavericks The Afghan Whigs are set to play their first Scottish gig in 16 years in support of forthcoming studio return Do To The Beast – they play Glasgow's Oran Mor on 18 July (and Manchester's Cathedral the night before), with tickets for both shows on sale now, expect them to go fast. 

Industrial innovators Nine Inch Nails his the SSE Hydro this spring – their reassembled touring lineup, which sees Trent Reznor backed by Ilan Rubin, Alessandro Cortini and Robin Finck, visit the SSE Hydro on 20 May, with tickets for the gig still available. They also play Manchester's Phones 4u Arena on 25 May. Support for the European tour is delivered by Matador's pitch-black goth revivalists Cold Cave.

Just announced this week, The Strokes' Albert Hammond Jr. will be touring the UK in May – heading out on the road in support of new EP AHJ, Hammond will be playing at Liverpool Sound City on 2 May, and Glasgow's Stag and Dagger festival on 4 May, before heading down to play Gorilla in Manchester on 7 May. 

You can't keep Ian McCulloch down for long – Echo and the Bunnymen will be touring the UK in May. They visit The Ritz in Manchester on 14 May, Edinburgh's Queens Hall on 16 May, and Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall on 20 May for a very special homecoming show, which should prove pretty unmissable.

LA psychedelic drone wizards The Warlocks will be coming to the UK next month to promote recent album Skull Worship – they stop by Glasgow's Broadcast on 12 March, Liverpool's The Kazimier on 13 March, and Manchester's Antwerp Mansion on 15 March. 

Hip-hop heavyweight Action Bronson comes to Manchester's Academy 2 on 12 May before visiting the East Village Arts Club in Liverpool on 13 May. Former Distillers front-woman Brody Dalle will be hitting up Glasgow's The Garage on 21 April, and Manchester's Academy 2 on 22 April.

Also just announced are shows at Glasgow's Broadcast for Canadian synth-pop sensation Trust on 17 May, and a special AV set by Stones Throw founder Peanut Butter Wolf on 31 March. Glasgow's O2 ABC have also recently announced shows from Television, performing their classic Marquee Moon, on 14 June, and George Clinton & P-Funk with the Bernie Worrell Orchestra performing classics from the Parliament and Funkadelic back catalogue, on 18 April. Finally, Eels will play a show in Manchester at The Bridgewater hall on 16 June.
