Death Grips drop ‘Inanimate Sensation’ video

Death Grips have reemerged with a video for ‘Inanimate Sensation’, taken from the second half of their final double album The Powers That B.

The avant-garde hip-hop outfit split earlier this year, announcing their break-up via a handwritten note uploaded to their Facebook page. The first half of The Powers That B – the Björk-riffing Niggas on the Moon – was released as a free download earlier this year ahead of a full release for the double LP at a date as yet unannounced.

The clip for ‘Inanimate Sensation’ features filtered and distorted visuals similar to those seen in previous Death Grips videos, intercut with footage of frontman Stefan Burnett, aka MC Ride. It's all superimposed on a collapsed stadium scoreboard, with Ride donning a set of giant Cookie Monster-style eyes at one stage.

Death Grips’ debut Exmilitary was one of our top ten albums of 2011, while the group’s second LP The Money Store was our music writers’ album of 2012.
